About Brenda Kezar

Brenda Kezar is a horror and fantasy writer living on the frozen plains of North Dakota. Her love of horror dates back to age eight, when the lack of a babysitter caused her parents to drag her to a completely age-inappropriate horror movie. A few years later, she won a local young author's conference in her grade category and a dream was born.

She attended the University of North Dakota and made a name for herself in the accounting department, earning accolades and membership into several prestigious accounting groups. To this day, no one in those groups knows exactly what she looks like since she was always sneaking off to the English department to hang out with the other wanna-be writers.

When she's not writing, thinking about writing, or avoiding writing by surfing eBay, Brenda likes to read, fish, and hunt. She collects winged felines and swords. She occasionally spares a few moments out of her busy schedule for her infinitely-patient husband, Greg.

Her favorite television shows are The Walking Dead and Survivor ("the greatest psycho-social experiment ever").

Although she's not afraid to go spelunking in Kentucky, she harbors a paralyzing fear of steel wool. She's also prone to bizarre accidents, such as the time she was rushed to the ER for a porcupine quill embedded in her leg even though there are no porcupines for 500 miles.

Brenda belongs to several on-line writing and critique groups and blogs occasionally. You can also find her on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

Her work has appeared in: Daily Science Fiction.com, Hysterical Realms (Alternate Hilarities 3), Black Chaos II: More Tales of the Zombie, Voluted Tales, Tell Me a Fable, Silverthought Online, SNM Horror Magazine, Bonded by Blood V: Doomsday Descends, A High Shrill Thump (Third Flatiron Publishing), Penumbra eMag, Zombidays: Festivities of the Flesheaters, 69 Flavors of Paranoia, Alienskin Magazine, Inclinations, OG's Speculative Fiction, Thema, Down in the Cellar, Emerald Tales, Loving the Undead, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Inspiration for Writers, Cup of Comfort for Writers, Cup of Comfort for Dog Lovers, and Wild with Child.

She currently divides her time between writing short stories and torturing her unstable muse, Cletus the redneck zombie.
